Celebrating 37 years of Publishing!
Fall 2025 marked the 37th Anniversary of The Country Register which started in Arizona. From one paper in one state, it soon grew until today there are publishers printing The Country Register papers across the USA and Canada. BarLo Media LLC license the active publishers, and we are proud to say they represent 43 U.S states and 5 Provinces of Canada!
The Country Register was started by Founder Barbara Floyd in 1988. That first issue was small with 24 advertisers and few articles. 37 years later, the methods and resources used to publish the newspapers have advanced. The larger number of pages are full of color and wonderful articles by incredibly talented writers. The Country Register publishers across the USA and Canada do a fantastic job of connecting shops and events with their loyal and local readers. With the addition of social media, you can now connect using Facebook and Instagram. The publishers share current issues on their websites, so please browse the publisher list to find shops in your area or “visit” another part of the country to plan a future trip using The Country Register as your guide.

Each issue of The Country Register includes feature stories, patterns, recipes and more. For 37 years, working as a group, the publishers have collected a large and varied number of writers and contributors on assorted topics related to our advertisers and focus.
Each year we find new writers gracing us with their creative articles and we love sharing them with the readers. We receive many comments from our loyal readers that tell us they love sitting down with The Country Register and reading it cover to cover. We are so fortunate and thankful for all the wonderful contributors to The Country Register.
Each publisher chooses their own articles and filler which best represents their area and readership. You will also find articles on local shops and events. The papers are free to pick up at a local shop or event near you. It is always fun to stop into one of the nearby shops to say “hi,” shop a bit and pick up your free copy. Yearly subscriptions are available for those who prefer to have a copy mailed to them, so you will not miss an issue!
Affordable Means of Advertising
The Country Register offers an affordable means of advertising for shops and events on a statewide basis. Some advertisers have been consist supporters of the Registers since the very beginning.
The Country Register has played a significant role in the success and growth of the local retail businesses it promotes. One of the publication's biggest strengths is forging bonds between shop owners, crafters, artisans and customers. The Country Register prints bimonthly - six issues per year. The papers are distributed without charge at its advertisers' locations, as well as other 'well-traveled' sites and through subscription.
